UPDATE: This website contacted Matt Climie in 2009 for some info, and he kindly gave up this update on his career: I’m currently under contract with the Dallas Stars of the NHL. This will be my second pro season with the Stars organization. I had the opportunity to play in three games with the Stars last year winning two of the three. I also played for their minor pro team, the Idaho Steelheads and was loaned out to the Houston Aeros for the American League playoffs. This season I will competing for the back up role for the Stars and if things don’t work out I will be playing for their American league affiliate, the Texas Stars. Henry Westcott Climie came to New Zealand from England in 1875. He worked as a surveyor in the Wellington area and in the Manawatu as did his brother James Climie and father Daniel Climie, an engineer who had previously worked on railways in Britain. Mount Climie was surveyed and named by one of them.
